Unlock an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla secret bow by smashing a pile of rocks

Smashing those sparkly rocks scattered around the world in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will only really give you some Iron Ore for your troubles. At some point, it isn’t really worth it, as you’ll get this material just by progressing naturally through the game. Well, a player has recently discovered a super secret bow from the same pile of rocks in the game. Pretty cool!

Youtuber JorRaptor has uploaded a nifty video showing us how the whole thing works, and the results are rather surprising. The whole trick basically requires you to travel up north to an island, smash a rock pile which turns out to be unbreakable, save and reload the game, and do the process all over again. Simple! Once you log back in, the rock pile should be destroyed and reward you with the Mythical Weapon called Noden’s Arc, a hunter bow.

Check the video out below:

I have not personally tried it yet as of this writing but will boot up the game immediately after to check for myself. Judging from the process, this is definitely not the intended way of acquiring the weapon.

Well, it isn’t, as confirmed by Darby McDevitt, the narrative director for the game. He calls it a “clever brute force hack”, which, as the name suggests, isn’t the proper way to go about getting the weapon. There is a legit way to acquire it, but it seems nobody has figured it out yet.

We’re not quite sure if this exploit will get patched soon, as the weapon seems to have been placed there to prepare for future content. If you roll with a hunter bow build, this is a great weapon to add to your arsenal. It even starts off as Mythical, to boot!

The last time we smashed some rocks, it gave us this swanky Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Collector’s Edition, which we immediately unboxed.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is now available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
