Whether or not you’re able to secure one over the last six months, the numbers show that the PlayStation 5 is the fastest selling console in the US according to March’s NPD report. While February’s report may read the same, the distinction is PS5 has hit both dollar and unit sales to make it the fastest selling console in US history, even outpacing the PS4, which was arguably a beast on its own. https://twitter.com/MatPiscatella/status/1383042564756893703 It is also worth noting that with this sales boost, software and accessories for the PlayStation 5 will also be boosted in association, you can’t just get a PS5 and that would be enough (except if you’re a scalper). Spider-Man Miles Morales is the 2nd fastest PS5 best-selling game and the Dualsense controller is the leading accessory in dollar sales from March. When it rains, it pours. This feat is particularly impressive selling during a time…

The upcoming first-person survival horror survival shooter entitled Abandoned is a PlayStation 5 exclusive game coming in Q4 2021. Coming from a post on the PlayStation Blog, Abandoned comes from Blue Box Game Studios from the Netherlands, and is set on “a highly detailed open world environment and favours a realistic approach to survival. ” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL9pGRdCjNc Not much is known about the game at the moment, but the premise of the game revolves around Jason Longfield, who finds himself abandoned in a forest. He soon finds out that he was kidnapped and now, his main focus is to escape and survive. Development of the game is still at its early stages, but this teaser trailer shows realistic graphics that would make for a good horror game indeed. Some of the features will be its realistic character interaction, which affects aiming your weapon when you are tired or afraid, for example. The…

No controller has been spared from the infamous drifting issue and now, players have been reporting issues with their new DualSense controllers as well. While the problem doesn’t appear to be widespread, it is equally as concerning just the same, especially being as pricy as it is. Kotaku has compiled various reports of players experiencing drift issues of varying degrees. Some have reported getting it after just 10 days of owning the controller, while others are showing proof of drift while playing games like Immortals Fenyx Rising and Call of Duty. To be clear, this doesn’t seem to be a game-related issue, but more of a hardware problem. While some are facing problems under warranty, its tougher to get it repaired or replaced after the fact. In some local PlayStation Facebook groups, players have also been experiencing drift issues, but have sworn about it disappearing after they’ve charged the controller.…

I guess the tagline “It’s about time” is finally accurate this time around, as Crash Bandicoot is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch, alongside the next-gen versions, on March 12. Announced on the Activision Blog, the latest installment in the Crash Bandicoot series make its next-gen appearance, bringing with it “enhanced 4K resolution, faster loading times, and more”. Specifically, PS5 and Xbox Series X will enjoy the game at native 4K 60fps, with the Series S upscaling to 4K. All this will come as a free upgrade to owners of the base game on the last-gen consoles. The PS5 version, in particular, will receive DualSense upgrades that will make use of the adaptive triggers, as well as support activity cards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIrTfLA4f58 Our review of Crash Bandicoot 4 calls it a “wumpin’ good time”, and while it is as good as a Crash game can get, it is also…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAkIIQLjPS0 I was both excited and dreading playing Little Nightmares II after going through Little Nightmares just recently. Excited because I was looking forward to the continued adventures of Mono and Six but dreading it because if the predecessor was any indication of the terrifying things I’ll be facing down in the sequel, I don’t know if I could take it. Recently, I’ve been playing quite a lot of horror games of varying degrees of content. There are the conceptually terrifying but aren’t terrifying on screen (Control), there’s the straight up scary because it’s designed to be scary (The Maiden), and there’s The Medium. However, there’s something fundamentally primal with how Little Nightmares presents their monstrosities, and I’d rather take Lady Dimitrescu stomping on my neck any day of the week. While our demo impressions colored us impressed with the game, there’s always this underlying doubt that this latest installment…

https://youtu.be/UISRDU_mzaw Control was way ahead of its time when it released in 2019. It’s a surreal shooter from the creators of Alan Wake that goes into the dark reaches of your psyche as you traverse The Oldest House. I tried it for a few hours in 2020 and quit because of the eyestrain due to the uneven brightness and color palette. If there’s a way to plainly describe Control, it would be perched comfortably in the middle where Oxenfree sits on one end and Kentucky Route Zero on another. While Oxenfree is easily understood and Kentucky Route Zero is an art installation, Control rewards your action with abstract visions that descends into a rabbit hole of trippy wonder. With Control Ultimate Edition being offered for free on PS Plus for February, there’s almost no excuse to not try it out at some point. (For those without a PS5 yet, you…

The next-gen version will utilize the power of the hardware, translating to improved frame rates, lightning fast load times, 4K support, and much more. Cyberpunk 2077 may not have been the massive hit that everyone was expecting but once upon a time, CD Projekt Red came up with arguably one of the best games in recent memory in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game was so widely acclaimed and in fact, was the most awarded game since 2015 until The Last of Us Part II beat it just recently. But enough of that, what we want to say is that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is massively discounted on PSN right now, and for the price of around PHP500, you get the full game and all of the DLC for it, which includes both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. That’s an 80% discount from the original price, and possibly the lowest price its been in quite a while. https://twitter.com/witchergame/status/1356965665450594306 The game would normally cost you $49.99 or around PHP2,500 but from…

Despite the pandemic throwing a wrench in the plans of almost every company out there, the demand is still very strong for the next-gen consoles. In fact, even with very limited stock worldwide that is expected to continue this year, the PlayStation 5 has managed to sell 4.5 million units as of December 31, 2020, based on Sony’s latest financial reports. Senior analyst at Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad also gives us some insight on the latest numbers behind Sony and the PlayStation 5, saying that the PS4 also shipped as many units in the same quarter back in 2013. https://twitter.com/ZhugeEX/status/1356848720835411968 It is interesting to note that Sony’s gaming segment has seen a rise in operating income by 50% on a year on year comparison, and a big factor for this is PS Plus, which now has over 47 million subscribers, up from 38.8 million from a year ago. Even with…

Initially scheduled for an early 2021 release date, a fair expectation would be around February or March. We didn’t think “early” meant July, as a new trailer just dropped, confirming its new release window of July 2021 (I guess you can make an argument for “early” that it’s not Q4 2021). Now seen in their publisher’s website, the surprise announcement got me excited knowing that summer isn’t too empty after all. https://youtu.be/q3OaU-nmMa4 Check out our demo impressions of Cris Tales, where its impressive time magic mechanic that affect both in-battle and the game world revitalizes the classic JRPG turn-based battle system. It is available for download on PSN, Nintendo eShop, Xbox Live, and on Steam. Cris Tales is now available for pre-order and its collector’s edition looks amazing.

Alongside the release date announcement of the highly anticipated Mass Effect Legendary Edition, a Collector’s Edition has also been revealed and it is indeed as legendary as you can imagine. As seen on the official website, the Collector’s Edition featured items made for the biggest fans of the series, including a 1:1 Scale Replica N7 Helmet among other collectible items. The full package will set you back for $149.99 (around PHP7,500) and will include the following items: 1 Mass Effect Legendary Edition Metal Game Case (Game not included)1 Morality Spinner Pin1 N7 Acceptance Letter2 Canvas Art Prints (Including one you can only find at the BioWare Gear Store)Comes in a full color custom box featuring the game’s key art This specific BioWare Gear Store edition will be exclusively sold through their online store, but it remains to be seen if other retailers will carry the Collector’s Edition as well.
