A huge Nintendo Direct happened earlier today, and there was a LOT of announcements, including some standouts like Project Triangle Strategy and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD among others. Little did we know that the Japanese direct had a new game from a familiar anime character due out in the Summer.

As spotted by Nibel on Twitter, the Crayon Shin-Chan game (Crayon Shin-chan: Ora to Hakase no Natsuyasumi – Owaranai Nanokakan no Tabi as per Gematsu) was apparently shown during the Japanese broadcast of the Direct from earlier today. You can see the official trailer below courtesy of the official Nintendo Japan Youtube channel.

Further down the thread, game director Kaz Ayabe was quoted as saying that he will do his best to release a European version. We can only assume and hope that this would further get localized into English as well depending on the clamor for it.

You can view a gameplay video below, courtesy of ファミ通TUBE:

Based on the trailer, it seems like a slice of life sort of game, where you get to do various tasks like catch bugs, go fishing, and other activities.

Hopefully we find out more information about this game if it gets localized and possibly released in the west.
