Announced during the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary livestream, which also saw the reveal of Dragon Quest XII, Square Enix have announced that Dragon Quest III will be receiving an HD-2D Remake similar to Octopath Traveler, and it looks absolutely superb.

A short trailer was introduced, showing off a good chunk of what we can expect from the game in terms of battles and exploration, which really keeps the soul of the original intact.

Remake producer Masaaki Hayasaka mentioned that the game is planned for a simultaneous worldwide release, but no specific release date has been given. As for which platforms it will release on, no details about that have been given as well.
