Elden Ring File Size And Pre-load Date For PS5 Revealed

Elden Ring isn’t launching until February, but as early as now we already have an idea of how much storage the game will take when it goes live next year.

Elden Ring File Size and Pre-load Date

Courtesy of Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, an account dedicated to… well, indicating PlayStation game sizes before launch, Elden Ring will measure at a pretty hefty 44.472 GB without a day one patch. Given that the PS5 usually has a smaller file size for some games compared to other platforms (Control Ultimate Edition for example), there may be a possibility that the file size for other platforms could be slightly bigger.

Pre-loads for digital copies will start on February 23, 2 full days before it goes live, so you’ll have enough time to download everything and prep up your console for the ensuing epicness.

44 GB is a relatively big file, especially when compared to Sekiro, which launched at only 12.5 GB (sans updates). Previous FromSoftware games have pretty manageable file sizes as well, so Elden Ring will be needing much more space, and it would be foolish to not give it the space it rightly deserves.

Whether you plan to enjoy the game on the PS4 or PS5 will not be too much of an issue, seeing as the PS4 version of the game runs surprisingly well.

Elden Ring will be available on February 25 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
