Final Fantasy VII Remake Will be a Trilogy

During the recently concluded Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration showcase, Square Enix revealed that the Final Fantasy VII Remake project will be a trilogy in the making, with one more title left unannounced.

Yoshinori Kitase spoke during the stream, confirming that the Remake project will be told across three games, with the second game being the recently revealed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which is due out in Winter next year for the PS5.

The first game was released back in 2020, and updated with the addition of the Yuffie DLC a PS5 upgraded release entitled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which will also release for Steam today.

The third game is still unannounced, but Tetsuya Nomura spoke about Rebirth, saying that the game is designed so that players can enjoy the installment whether or not they’ve played the first game. The reveal of the third game will come when the team is ready.
