Square Enix is giving a nice surprise to everyone before the year ends as the Final Fantasy VII Remake game redeemed from PS Plus earlier this year can soon be upgraded to the PS5 version for free starting this Wednesday. Take note though that this doesn’t include the Yuffie DLC but just the PS5 upgrades.

Along with this free upgrade, which will give players a couple of game modes such as a 60fps experience along with other improvements, the Yuffie DLC “INTERmission” will also be on sale for a limited time at $14.99 (around PHP750), making it the perfect time to purchase it to complete the Intergrade experience.

If you’ll remember from earlier this year, Final Fantasy VII Remake was given as a free game for PS Plus subscribers but with a big caveat – you wouldn’t be able to upgrade it to the PS5-enhanced version. If you purchased it, no problem, but if you got it through PS Plus, then no cigar. This resulted in some players purchasing the cheaper PS4 retail version of the game to avail of that upgrade.

It may be a number of months too late, but as the saying goes, better late than never. Players who have been patiently waiting can now breathe a big sigh of relief as they’ll now be able to play the best version of the game.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available for the PS4 and PS5, along with a PC release just recently.
