Its been revealed that Hideo Kojima has been in touch with Junji Ito about working on a new horror game together. That’s a horror game dream team right there if we ever heard of one!

During an interview at Comic-Con@Home, the famed Mangaka was asked whether he was involved in some form of video game development, in response to seeing him make a cameo for Death Stranding. While Ito said no, he did reveal that Kojima has approached him to work on a new project.

You can view the whole interview below but for the excerpt about Kojima, you can skip to the 34:05 mark.

“So the simple answer is no, however I do know director Kojima and we have been in conversation that he might have a horror-based game that he might be doing, and so he has invited me to work on that, but there are no details on it yet,” said Junji Ito as communicated by a translator.

While their current discussions could grow into a full blown project down the line, we can at least look forward to the next Kojima title and as per the rumors from before, it does seem to be a horror title. Could it be anything within the realm of the Silent Hill reboot that’s been in the rumor mill from months back?
