If not for COVID, 2020 would have been totally different. Some games probably wouldn’t be delayed to hell like Cyberpunk 2077, and at around this time, people would have been lining up to be the first ones to get a crack at the next-generation consoles.
Joey Chiu, the first person to line up for the PS4 and PS4 Pro during a launch event in New York, would have probably been the first person to line up for the PlayStation 5 as well, but COVID had other plans. That being the case, Sony had plans of its own and because lining up is physically impossible without risking your own health and safety, Sony sent over a brand new PlayStation 5 to Joey, complete with a personalized message that reads “First in line for PS4, first in line for PS4 Pro, patience is a virtue, this is for you.”
If anyone probably deserves it, who better than the camper-man himself. That’s true dedication, and Sony acknowledges it with this great surprise.
The PlayStation 5 is releasing tomorrow for the lucky players from the other side of the world and for local gamers in the Philippines, the price and release date has finally been revealed, retailing for PHP27,990 and will release on December 11, 2020. It may be one month late, but hey, patience is a virtue.
