March 2022 Game Releases

Following a crazy busy February that saw a couple of possible Game of the Year candidates sprinkled with a handful of must-play titles, the March 2022 Game Releases look to keep the pace up with some fantastic titles to add to your library.

We have a few heavy hitters for our March 2022 Game Releases with the likes of Gran Turismo 7, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Add some hot Switch exclusives like Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Square Enix’s anticipated Triangle Strategy and you’ve got yourself another month of more games to add to your backlog.

Speaking of Square Enix, we also have the curious Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Babylon’s Fall. There’s also a mix of potential sleeper titles like Tunic and Weird West, along with something for Fighting game and sports enthusiasts like Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and WWE 2K22.

Oh, and did we already mention Grand Theft Auto V as part of our March 2022 Game Releases? What year is it?!

Babylon’s Fall

Release Date: March 3, 2022

One of the many titles Square Enix revealed during their E3 2021 showcase, Babylon’s Fall didn’t receive the warmest of welcomes when it was first announced. The team at Platinum Games has been hard at work and with it releasing in just a few days, we’ll finally get to see more of what this high octane dungeon crawler can offer.

Pick of the Month: Triangle Strategy

Release Date: March 4, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch

From the developers of Octopath Traveller and the Bravely Default series comes Triangle Strategy, a strategy-RPG that’s as close as it gets to old-school classics Final Fantasy Tactics. I’m expecting a lot of great things from this title, so watch out for its release in just a few days!

Pick of the Month 2: Gran Turismo 7

Platform: PS5, PS4

Almost 10 years after the release of Gran Turismo 6 and nearly 5 years after GT Sport, Sony and Polyphony are finally ready to pop the hood on the latest entry in the series. With just a few days to go before release, we’ll finally get to see Gran Turismo back on the track and ready to take that crown.

.hack//GU Last Recode

Release Date: March 10, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch

As the 20th anniversary launch for the .hack series, Last Recode compiles the cult classic and all its titles for the Nintendo Switch, namely .hack//G.U. Vol. 1//RebirthVol. 2//ReminisceVol. 3//Redemption, and Vol. 4//Reconnection. That’s a ton of content in one neat package.

WWE 2K22

After the disastrous launch of WWE2K20, all eyes are on this release to see if the series can redeem itself. Expectations are sky-high, and Rey Mysterio is certainly the high-flyer the game needs to bring back fans as WWE2K22 promises to “hit different” as part of the March 2022 Game Releases.

Grand Theft Auto V

Release Date: March 15, 2022
Platform: PS5, Xbox Series

GTAV? What year is it? You’re not dreaming as GTAV is looking at another console generation as part of the March 2022 Game Releases, this time for the PS5 and Xbox Series. The next-gen version promises new graphic modes, faster loading times, and much more.

Tunic

Release Date: March 16, 2022
Platform: Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC

A highly-anticipated indie, Tunic is a charming Zelda-like dungeon crawler that’s quite similar to a recent release in Death’s Door. The world looks absolutely wonderful and if the previous demo is any indication, this game certainly belongs in your library as part of the March 2022 Game Releases.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Release Date: March 17, 2022
Platform: PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch

Persona 4 is still going strong twelve years after its initial release and it’s time we get reacquainted with the gang in this flashy fighting re-release. While not the Persona 4 release Switch owners were hoping for, who knows what’s next? Maybe there’s still hope after all.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S

From the makers of the Nioh series comes Stranger of Paradise, a curious Final Fantasy Soulslike re-imagining. The re-purposing of the job system and the higher difficulty of the game makes this title one of the more interesting pieces to come out of Square Enix this year, so get ready for chaos as part of the March 2022 Game Releases.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

This fantasy spin-off with Tiny Tina taking the reins is bringing back Gearbox to its action-comedy schtick with the introduction of some creative fantasy character classes to expand the looter shooter genre. Get ready for some crazy times with Tiny Tina towards the end of March!

Kirby and The Forgotten Land

Release Date: March 25, 2022
Platform: Nintendo Switch

Our March 2022 Game Releases welcomes Kirby back in an all-new 3D adventure, and just when you think you’ve seen all of what this pink puff can do, Nintendo adds “mouthful mode” to make this wacky outing one of the must-play games of the month.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Release Date: March 25, 2022
Platform: PC, PS5

As Bethesda’s final game for the Playstation 5, we’re treated to Tango Gameworks’ much-awaited Ghostwire: Tokyo. In this first-person action-adventure horror title, you take the role of Akito who seeks to liberate Tokyo from an invasion of supernatural entities.

Weird West

Release Date: March 31, 2022
Platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch

Developed by the folks from Dishonored and Prey and published by Devolver Digital, Weird West is an isometric RPG that’s looking like another banger flying underneath the radar for this month. If you’re a fan of the genre, this is definitely something to check out.
