Resident Evil Village Getting ‘Winters’ Expansion’, Includes Third-person and Story DLC

During the Capcom Showcase, the company announced that Resident Evil Village will be getting the Winters’ Expansion DLC, which will include a third-person mode for the campaign, The Mercenaries Additional Orders featuring new stages and playable characters (Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu), and a continuation of the story in Shadows of Rose.

The expansion, which will be available on October 28, 2022 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC, will also be part of a repackaged Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, launching on the same day.

The third-person mode will offer players a new view of the campaign, offering a playable version of the game over Ethan’s shoulder. This is perfect for those who are not particularly comfortable with the first-person view and want to see more of the action as it happens.

In the Shadows of Rose DLC, players will get a chance to control Rose as she “decides to dive into the world of the Megamycete’s consciousness to seal the innate powers that she has been struggling with. The DLC is set in third-person perspective and will put more focus on resource management because healing items and ammo will be very limited.
