REV Major 2022 – What to Expect

Fighting game fans have a lot to look forward to this weekend because REV Major is looking to do it again as it brings back the hype on September 17 to 18 at the SMX Convention Center Manila Function Rooms 4 & 5.

This year, the event is looking bigger and better, and fans can expect a lot of surprised over the span of two days.

Here’s what we can expect from Rev Major 2022.

World Tours Galore

The event will be home to a number of world tours, where tournament winners will get a chance to compete against some of the best players in the world.

REV Major 2022 is part of the Tekken World Tour, but more than that, also a part of our region’s leg of the ArcSys World Tour, where the best Guilty Gear-Strive and DNF Duel players will do battle.

Lastly, the DragonBall Fighter Z World Tour is back and the hunt for the strongest DBFZ
players to show their true power begins.

Tournaments and communities to look out for

Together with the World Tours, REV Major will also be hosting other local tournaments. This year, the event
will be jampacked with a lot of featured fighting games such as Street Fighter V, Marvel vs Capcom 2,
KOF XV, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Melty Blood Type Lumina, Grandblue Fantasy Versus, Soul Caliber VI, and Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate.

In partnership with GG Truck, fighting game communities will also have their own tournaments and
gimmicks in the FGC bay. Stay tuned and check out the different activities by Thems Fighting Herds,
Smash Melee Community, NTR Gaming, Midnight Mashers, and more!

Daigo, Markman, and Fighting Game Icons

Japanese pro player who currently holds a world record of “the most successful player in major tournaments of Street Fighter” in the Guinness World Records and 6-time Evo championship series winner, Daigo, will be present in REV Major.

Famous Tekken commentator and Director of Global Business Development for EVO, MarkMan, will also be at the event, casting in the Tekken World Tour segment and meeting his local fans.

International and local players are also expected to show off their fighting game skills in REV Major to become the world’s best. The recent Evo 2022 TEKKEN7 champion, Knee, and Evo 2022 TEKKEN 7 second placer Slash, as well as the Evo 2019 DBFZ Champion – G01 are all present.

Other well-known international FG players such as JeonDDing, Chanel, Book, Anakin, and Rangchu are also coming to the event. Local FG idols such as AK, Doujin, Vermillon, and Jules will also battle it out in REV Major. Hundreds of registered players from all over the world, such as South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, India, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Singapore, and the USA will be attending this premier fighting game event in the country.

Booth Activities From Sponsors and Partners

Various brands are also hopping aboard the hype train, giving out prizes to lucky attendees.

Visitors that go to the ViewSonic booth will have the opportunity to experience their latest and current gaming monitors along with interesting on-site activities and exclusive ViewSonic premium items are up for grabs.

RUMBLE ROYALE will also be there and will be holding community activities with attendees, giving out prizes and exclusive merch to those who pass by their booth.

Other known brands such as the prominent gaming peripheral distributor – Rotobox PH, popular energy drink – Red Bull and community partner – GG Truck will also be joining the REV Major experience.

Merch and Loot Aplenty

REV Major has a huge surprise for those attending this year, as Richard Suwono-designed shirts, hoodies, official REV shirts, sticker packs, tote bags, and more, will be made available.

The event will also play host to a merch and artist alley that showcases different art from known FGC artists, t-shirts, and other game-centered merch such as various favorite hero and character action figures, console buttons, and arcade sticks!
