Saints Row Boss Factory Demo Will Bring All of Your Customization Dreams to Life

In anticipation of the upcoming Saints Row Reboot, Volition and Deep Silver are coming up with a demo called the Boss Factory that will give players the ability to play around with the outrageous customization suite of the game.

The demo is scheduled to release *checks notes* today (!) and is free to download on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Epic Games. We got to try out the demo ahead of time and while it isn’t actual gameplay of the upcoming title, the customization suit really goes all out into some crazy territory that can result in some of the best-looking (or weirdest) bosses around Santo Ileso.

Coming from the previously released customization trailer of the game, fiddling around with the Boss Factory settings may feel basic at first glance. You’ll get the usual presets and sliders available to you, but the magic really lies in how much of the character you can change and how many options are available to the player.

You’ll start from the basic skin color and hair but will quickly move into emotes, groin size, and even prosthetics. There are limitless combinations to be had, and one great aspect of Saints Row is that the game will allow you to customize one side of the face from the other, which is a first for the series.

In fact, the Boss Factory demo already includes ALL character customization items that will be included in the final release, except of course for the ones locked behind progression. The vehicle and weapon customization suite will also have to wait until the release of the game, so that’s definitely one more thing to look out for.

The breadth and depth of options are actually quite overwhelming, and apart from creating your own personalized Boss, the amusing part happens when the whole community starts sending in their own submissions soon after.

Utilizing the Boss Factory, players can choose to upload their majestic creation on the Saints Row website, where players from all around the world can pick a model of their liking and download it to their game using a unique seven-character code that is shareable across all platforms. Players are encouraged to share their creations because two exclusive DJ helmets will be given to players who have accomplished the necessary steps.

Based purely on this demo alone, the customization suite of Saints Row is on another level and is, quite frankly, one of the best, if not the biggest, ones out there. The amount of choice is staggering, and with the right amount of imagination, you can be whoever you want to be.
