2023 is shaping up to be one of the best years in gaming, and as the September 2023 Game Releases will show, this month is home to a number of huge games and even some possible Game of the Year contenders.

You need not look further as Microsoft Bethesda’s gargantuan title, Starfield, opens the month strong. It’s been a long time coming for this title, and as Todd Howards’ newest IP in 25 years, it’s bound to be special.

Fighting games also make a resurgence this year and are further bolstered by Mortal Kombat 1. Featuring gory fatalities, highly strategic battles, and the continuation of a fantastic story, what’s not to like?

The rest of the month is just as big with the release dates of anticipated titles including Lies of P, Baldur’s Gate 3 for the PS5, and Payday 3. Cyberpunk 2077‘s redemption arc also continues as its promised DLC, Phantom Liberty, drops at the end of the month.
