Bethesda has announced that their highly anticipated open-world space RPG Starfield has gone gold.
Going gold in game development means that work on the base game is essentially complete and is ready to be sent off to the printers for the final steps before it is finally released.
Additionally, the company has revealed its preload dates for both Xbox and PC via Steam, which will happen on August 17 and August 30, respectively. Players can start downloading the game on these dates in preparation for release so that they can start playing it the moment it goes live.
While Starfield is not yet fully playable until its official release date of September 6, players who ordered the premium edition of the game can enjoy access as early as September 1.
