Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will be delayed to July

The COVID-19 situation has taken 2020 by storm, delaying various titles like The Last of Us 2 and even events like E3 and Gamescom, among others. Another casualty of this outbreak is Bandai Namco’s upcoming offering in Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris, which is now scheduled to release on July 10, 2020.

Bandai Namco released a trailer announcing a new date which you can view below:

Yosuke Futami, the executive producer of the Sword Art Online titles had this message to say about the delay:

We have been working hard on Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris for our fans who are looking forward to the next Sword Art Online title. Due to the ongoing world events, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoriss to July 10, 2020. We believe that this is the best way to ensure that Sword Art Online fans are delivered the best Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris experience.”

Originally scheduled for May 21, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will now release on July 10, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
