On the 7th year anniversary of The Witcher, CD Projekt Red has announced that the current-gen versions (PS5 and Xbox Series) of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are now planned to release in Q4 2022.

The update was previously delayed indefinitely after an initial shift to a Q2 2022 schedule due to the team re-evaluating the scope of the project. While no definite reason was given, it was widely speculated that the delay was due to the attack on Ukraine.

Dubbed the Complete Edition, this update will “feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content,” as mentioned in a post back in 2020. It will be offered as a standalone purchase but will also come as a free upgrade to those who already own a copy of the game.
