Crash Bandicoot is finally getting a new game as Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is set to make a splash on October 2 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While it could be argued that the Switch is a great place to experience the game, there has not been any indication of the latest title making its way to Nintendo’s portable until the Internet decided to do its work.

Twitter user SunwerPrower found a small hint of this possible port by checking out the script of the Crash Bandicoot 4 Website, indicating that there could be a Switch port somewhere down the line if the website code is accurate.

What was stopping Toys for Bob and Activision from announcing this in the first place, we’re not quite sure, but if anything, Nintendo Switch users would definitely love to see the game get ported over, just like it did with the recent N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing. Maybe saving it for a Nintendo direct?

As always, some salt is to be taken with this, but we’re hoping for the best and more platforms can only mean more Crash goodness for everyone!

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is currently scheduled to launch on October 2 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a smashing success. As reported a couple of months ago, sales of the latest title in the franchise hit staggering numbers, contributing largely to the spike in Nintendo Switch sales over the past quarter. Part of this can be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing users to stay indoors and look for alternative ways to entertain themselves.

In the latest financial report, Nintendo is literally swimming in money right now as it has reported over a 500% increase in net profit on a yearly comparison. Over the past few months, Switch shortages have been reported nearly worldwide and it has become the hottest commodity in gaming.

The culprit? Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Since its release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold 22.4 million copies, already outselling bestsellers such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (19.99 Million), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (18.60 Million), Pokemon Sword / Shield (18.22 Million), and Super Mario Odyssey (18.06 Million). As of writing, the only game it has not overtaken is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which stands at 26.74 Million units, making Animal Crossing the second best selling Switch title.

That’s quite the feat, considering its only been around for less than a year. A fully produced talk show has made the game its home, with celebrities like Danny Trejo and Elijah Wood enjoying the phenomenon as well. Almost everybody is playing the game.

How long before it overtakes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? It probably just a matter of time and it would certainly be most impressive if the game can maintain this blistering pace. Whatever the case may be, the game is a certified hit, which Tom Nook is certainly enjoying.

After a Japanese release early this year, it seems that Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will be making its Western debut soon.

While no specific date was listed, a Koei Tecmo financial statement (seen below) that covers the fiscal year duration until March 2021 showed titles slated for a future release. The listing is in Japanese, but the second entry here refers to the Persona 5 title in question, which will be receiving a release on both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in the west, specifically North America and Europe, according to the statement.

As per Persona Central, Sega filed a trademark in December 2019 for the name Persona 5 Strikers including a logo, which could imply that this could be the title for the upcoming game when it releases in the West.

While we wait for an official announcement from Sega or Atlus, it would be safe to say that a Western release would be very logical, considering how well Persona 5 was received by the fans.

Seeing Stars? How about 108 of them?

A Tokyo based studio named Rabbit & Bear Studios, which consists of key members from the legendary Suikoden series, have announced what could be called as the ‘Spiritual Successor’ to the classic RPG.

Entitled Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, they’ve set a pretty ambitious target for the Fall of 2022, and will initiate a Kickstarter campaign aiming to raise $500,000 for a PC release. According to Gemtasu, there is one stretch goal, and console users will want to pay attention here, because that single stretch goal will determine a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Switch port (or Next-gen Switch, as available).

The Kickstarter campaign is scheduled to run from July 27 at 9AM PT (That’s 12AM, Philippine time) to August 28.

IGN Japan shared a teaser for the project:

As per Gematsu, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred heroes is being led by a team comprised by Suikoden I and II veteran scenario writer Yoshitaka Murayama, alongside series veterans Junko Kawano, Osamu Komuta, and Junichi Murakami. The project marks the first time these four creators have worked on a game together, as well as the first time Murayama and Kawano have collaborated in 25 years.”

Murayama further added that Eiyuden Chronicle is about war, or more importantly, the intention and feelings of the 100 heroes who fight that war from a variety of perspectives and for a variety of different reasons.”

Murayama also detailed some sort of base building mechanic similar to the RPG of old, saying that With each new character your ‘fortress town’ grows in size and ability. It is a key system in the game. As you increase your teammates, some members will be blacksmiths, some chefs and whether on the battlefield or not, each character will play a role in strengthening your resolve as an army. There are guilds that you can join which will largely change the visual make-up of your fortress town and grant different abilities. The more people you recruit, the stronger the snowball effect. As you level up, new trade options appear along with enemies and thieves that randomly attack your town in an effort to impede your progress. You need to make choices whether to strengthen your walls or hasten your progress. Each choice will make every play session feel different and have its own consequences.”
