Sony teases ‘next-generation VR system’ for the PlayStation 5
Sony has been pushing the boundaries of console gaming with its introduction of the PSVR more than four years ago and now, as per a post on the PlayStation Blog, they have officially teased the new version of the peripheral that will be launching for the PS5.
Senior Vice President of Platform Planning & Management Hideaki Nishino says that the next-generation VR system will be coming to the PS5, and it will enable “the ultimate entertainment experience with dramatic leaps in performance and interactivity.”
Nishino continues to say that Sony has been continuously innovating the system and one of the major improvements that they’ve taken note of is that it will connect to the PS5 using just a single cord for ease of use while still delivering fantastic visual quality.
Of course, the VR controllers will also be new, and it will use some of the technology found in the DualSense controller, ensuring the same fantastic experience throughout.
At the moment, no other information was given and more importantly, we don’t know how it looks like yet, but if the PS5 design is anything to go by, you can expect something radical, sleek, and eye catching.
Sadly, it won’t be launching in 2021, so this update by Sony is more of a teaser to give the fans something to look out for.
