Ubisoft is in a great position to enter the next-generation with all guns firing. Given that most of their upcoming titles have release dates on or within the release window of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, these games will surely be getting some serious mileage in a somewhat thin release lineup for both next-gen consoles.
Earlier today, Ubisoft had released more information about their current and upcoming games, with specific detail as to how each title will run on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Twitter user Shinobi602 has thankfully compiled each one into an easy to read format.
Simply put, almost all of Ubisoft’s titles will be playing at an eye watering 4K 60fps setting, save for Watch Dogs: Legion, which will run at 30fps with Ray Tracing. It could very well be possible that a future option to hit 60fps but disable Ray Tracing is implemented in a patch, so we wouldn’t discount this possibility.
That said, if you’re looking for some eye candy, then the next-gen consoles should be the way to go, if it wasn’t obvious yet. Otherwise, your current-gen consoles will still provide an immersive experience that is still serviceable.
Watch Dogs: Legion is launching just a few days from now, October 29 to be exact, and with it, a Platinum trophy that’s just begging to be acquired.
Game tracker site Exophase has listed all the trophies for the upcoming game and it seems to be an easy, but somewhat time consuming path to the platinum. Based on the conditions, you may need to do some traveling around London, but none are tied to ridiculously tough requests.
Warning – mild spoiler alert, you have been warned

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of Ubisoft’s biggest titles to close out the year. Even back when it was revealed with the help of BossLogic, the campaigns for Valhalla have been big and bombastic. Now, Ubisoft and Reebok have announced a partnership to bring fans a capsule collection worthy of Eivor and the Vikings.
The bespoke collection is headlined by three footwear styles in exclusive colorways inspired by the northern lights:
First up is the Zig Kinetica, which is inspired by the deep black of the Nordic night and the northern lights and features a black molded-mesh upper, built around its distinctive zigzag-shaped, energy-return sole in emerald sea. Nodding to the Viking Lifestyle, the model features the symbol for Synin, a raven that represents a major feature of Norse mythology, and helps key character Eivor on his journey.
The Club C Revenge features a soft suede tan upper with emerald sea and black hits throughout. On the heel, the silhouette features a twin battle ax symbol, the epitome of Norse versatility and one of the most iconic Viking symbols.
Last, the Classic Leather Legacy comes with a cold grey upper and highlights in both emerald sea and emerald haze. The embossed raven symbol on the heel this detail speaks once more to the deep meaning of these creatures for the Vikings.
The collection will be available exclusively on the Reebok website starting November 7 and in select retail stores from November 11. Local availability is not known as of writing.
Ubisoft Club and Uplay will soon be snapped out of existence but will take the form of Ubisoft Connect, the new all in one hub that will allow for easier access to Ubisoft services. More importantly, it will also allow for cross-play and cross-saves across platforms.
The company made the announcement through various social media channels and via an FAQ, describing Connect as “ecosystem of players services for all Ubisoft games across all platforms. It is the unification and improvement of Ubisoft Club, our loyalty program, and Uplay, our Desktop App, across all platforms.”
Connect will officially launch on October 29 alongside Watch Dogs Legion and will be implementing a simple system where each player will have a Connect account that has levels, and the more you play supported titles and complete challenges, you’ll earn XP and gain access to rewards.
Sounds pretty simple and easy, and although similar to how it was previously, the one big thing about Connect is how it is pushing cross-play and cross-saves between platforms, allowing players to play and pick up where they left off regardless of the platform they play on. There will be certain titles that will take advantage of this feature for now but expect the new titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising to be part of the list, among others.
Best thing about it? It’s free, and all you will have to do is sign up for a Connect account, if you haven’t already from Club or Uplay.
If there’s anything about the previous Assassin’s Creed games, it’s that there is a TON of content to burn through, whether it be in the base game of through DLC’s. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be no different, as Ubisoft has revealed its post-launch and season pass plans for the game, which include 2 expansions via the Season Pass and 4 free DLC’s.
In Spring 2021, the first expansion called “Wrath of the Druids” will take players on a journey to Ireland and unravel the mysteries of an ancient and mysterious druidic cult, tracking and discovering their members.
Scheduled in Summer 2021 will be “The Siege of Paris”, which will give players the chance to relive the most ambitious battle in Viking History with key historical figures of war-torn Frankia. During this key moment in history, players will infiltrate the fortified city of Paris and the River Seine under a prolonged siege, uncover enemy secrets, and form strategic alliances to safeguard their clan’s future..
Of course, if you’ve purchased either the Gold, Ultimate, or Collector’s edition of the game, then you’ll gain access to the Season Pass automatically as it will be included in the package that also includes “The Legend of Beowulf” quest, where players will uncover the monstrous truth behind the legend of Beowulf.
Don’t really care about the Season pass at all? Got you covered, as seasonal content updates spanning three months each will be accessible to all players, with the first event being available in late 2020.
Season 1 will launch in December 2020 with the following content planned:
A new settlement area, allowing players to continue to grow and evolve their settlement.
A traditional Viking Festival: the Yule Festival, for players to experience in their settlement.
A new game mode: the River Raids. Building on Valhalla’s core raiding mechanic the mode will deliver a dynamic, challenging and highly replayable raid experience.
The addition of the Ranks for Jomsviking: in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players can not only create their lieutenant to be part of their raiding crew, but also recruit some from their friends and the community. In Season 1, players will see an update to the Jomsviking feature which will allow their Jomsviking to earn XP and rank up – the higher will be the rank of the lieutenant, the more silver players will earn when recruited by other players.
Finally, as for each season, Season 1 will also come with new player skills and abilities, weapons and gear, and cosmetic items for the settlement, longship, horse and raven.
Season 2 will launch in March 2021 with a new game mode that builds on Valhalla’s core combat experiences, a new Jomsviking update, festivals in the Settlement, new gear and cosmetic items, and more. More information about Season 3 and 4 will be come at a later time.
Valhalla Awaits! Ahead of its launch on November 10, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has gone gold, which only means that there won’t be anymore delays and players can expect the latest in the long-running franchise to come right beside the launch of the next-gen systems.
Based on what we’ve seen so far for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, it seems like a familiar game in the vein of Origins and Odyssey but Ubisoft have made some substantial changes to make it stand as its own game with its own identity. Fans of the series should definitely be excited next month.
Are you picking up Valhalla when it launches? Will you be getting the next-gen versions instead?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was arguably the biggest announcement by Ubisoft during their recent showcase. Unfortunately, prior to the actual show, the game had already been leaked, stirring a number of reactions that didn’t go too well for the title, despite being a critically acclaimed classic.
Most of the feedback about the game was about the visuals, which was not quite up to par with expectations from a lot of people, looking a bit “dated” and not what was expected of a remake but more of a remaster.
In a interview with The Mako Reactor, Ubisoft India talked about some of the challenges of remaking the game as well as the visual direction of the game and why it looked the way it does.
Game Director Pierre Sylvain-Gires discussed that the game engine that they used, the Anvil engine, which is used for Assassin’s Creed games, isn’t really the best for this type of linear title. “The principle of the rewind is a headache technically. The Anvil engine was not made at all to do rewind, to do slow motion, to do all those time manipulation. The tech approach was a challenge.”
Sylvain-Gires goes on to say that “If you take the game that was made 17 years ago, there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of graphism and we really wanted to give a unique look to the game because Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is actually is a fantasy story – the narration, the 40 different levels you have to go through to finish the game are an immersion into the Thief of Baghdad and all these magical environments. So we decided to go for a unique visual treatment to make this game standout from other games. It’s not another Assassin’s Creed, it’s not like the same Prince of Persia from 2008. It has to be unique. This magic, this fantasy is shown through the saturation, through the light, so it also a challenge to redefine the visual identity of the game with this remake.”
It’s not quite the answer the fans are looking for, but it does give a bit of insight as to the challenges that they encountered.
With that said, Deputy Managing Director Syed Abbas reiterated that it was not a matter of timeline or budget problems, saying that “…quality is of the utmost importance and this is something that we have kept in mind from the start. The project has been in development for the last two and a half years. We have had at peak 170 members working on this project and not to mention other investments in infrastructure and set up to make a modern game. No there have not been any cutback in budget or timeline for the game.”
One note many may have missed is that the trailer that was shown is from an Alpha build of the game, meaning the final product should show major improvements by the time it is released next year. In fact, by the time Ubisoft is ready to show another update of the game, we can expect it to look like every inch of the remake we know they are capable of.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a remake of the original 2003 critically acclaimed classic and is scheduled to release on January 21 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and will retail for $39.99 or around PHP2,000.
Aiden Pearce, the lead character from the first Watch Dogs game, will be making an appearance in Watch Dogs: Legion, as revealed during the Ubisoft Forward presentation earlier today.
Aiden Pearce will be a fully playable character with his own dedicated story arc as part of the DLC, which is included in the Season Pass as part of the Gold, Ultimate and Collector editions of the game.
Check out the teaser trailer below:
More Watch Dogs: Legion post-launch information will be coming from Ubisoft in the coming weeks but for now, we can take a peek at how recruitment works in the game, as it will be integral to your success.
As a member of DedSec, players will be going up against criminal opportunists in Watch Dogs: Legion; sadists, mercenaries, cybercriminals, and more; they’ll have to be prepared for a variety of situations. Players must recruit members into their DedSec Resistance to take on these criminal opportunists, liberate London and uncover the identity of Zero-Day.
Scheduled to launch on October 29 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Watch Dogs: Legion will give existing current gen users a free next-gen upgrade free of charge and will be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
