Plans for a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remaster Scrapped After Vicarious Visions Merged With Blizzard

Remasters for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 were apparently planned but eventually scrapped when Blizzard merged with Vicarious Visions earlier this year.

This comes from Tony Hawk himself, who was speaking during a Twitch Stream by andyTHPS, saying that 3 + 4 was planned up until the release date of 1 + 2, but eventually folded.

“I mean that was the plan, even up until the release date of this, we were going 3 and 4, and then Vicarious got kind of absorbed and then they were looking for other developers and then it was over.”

When asked if Activision didn’t have faith in it, Tony Hawk continued on to say Activision was actually trying to look for someone to do it but couldn’t trust anyone like Vicarious Visions. They took pitches but didn’t like what they heard.

“The truth of it is, they were trying to find someone to do 3 + 4, but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious, so they took other pitches from other studios, like “what would you do with the THPS title” and they didn’t like anything they heard, and then that was it.”

Fans of Tony Hawk and the games may find some solace in the fact that it could still happen, but we’re hoping that it gets the same amount of love and care similar to what Vicarious Visions did with 1 + 2.
