Forza Horizon 5 To Add Sign Language Support

Xbox is ramping up its commitment to diversity and inclusion and adding sign language support to the much anticipated Forza Horizon 5 is further proof of this commitment.

Sign language support for cinematics as a picture-in-picture display – both British and American – will be added in a forthcoming update shortly after launch, according to Playground Games’ Creative Director Mike Brown.

The video below, details more of the accessibility options:

Along with the sign language support, there are other accessibility options present in the game such as the usual colorblind mode, subtitle options, and a particularly interesting one called “offline game speed”, which slows down the game to allow players with slower reaction times to still enjoy.

Mike Brown shares that the team at Playground Games wants “everyone in the world to be able to experience our game, and with more than an estimated 400 million gamers with disabilities across the globe, it is vital that all players be able to tailor their gameplay in a way that works best for them.”

“Many of the accessibility features found in the game were created in partnership with players from the Gaming & Disability community, many of whom shared their experiences and the barriers they faced in gaming with us. These are just some of the accessibility features we’re building upon, and we’re constantly listening to the community to make Forza Horizon 5 an inclusive experience for everyone to enjoy,” Brown continued.

Alongside these is a whole range of diversity options including the ability to add pronoun options that will be heard in how the radio stations in the game will refer to the player.

Forza Horizon 5 will be available on November 9 exclusively for the Xbox and PC.
