Ubisoft Going Down the $70 Route for its ‘Big AAA Games’
Ubisoft has expressed that it will be following the $70 trend for some of its games, as other publishers have already done.
Speaking to Stephen Totilo of Axios, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that some of its games will hit the $70 point, but specified that only its “big AAA games” will hit that mark.
“Some of the games will come at the same price as the competition. The big AAA games will come at $70,” he said.
The first game to go $70 will be the upcoming pirate adventure, Skull and Bones, which is scheduled to release on November 8 for the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
The price point might not be franchise dependent, as evidenced by the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is set to release at $50. Future AC games may be “bigger” than Mirage, so the price could vary.
