Ubisoft Reveals ‘The Rogue Prince of Persia’ From Dead Cells Devs, Early Access in May
Ubisoft and Evil Empire have announced The Rogue Prince of Persia, a new 2D action-platforming rogue-lite game scheduled to enter Early Access on Steam on May 14, 2024.
Here’s an overview of the story of the game:
The Rogue Prince of Persia is set in a fictional rendition of Ctesiphon, the capital of the Persian Empire. The city faces invasion by the Hun’s army of possessed soldiers, led by the malevolent Hun chief, Nogai. Players will embody the Prince, who was gifted with a mystical bola that resurrects him each time he dies. This magical artifact has let him take huge risks to perfect the skills of acrobatics & combat in his youth, molding him into a formidable warrior. Attempt after attempt, players must help the Prince explore different biomes, master new weapons, equip new trinkets, upgrade his gears at the Oasis and rally his allies to save the city from destruction.
Players will be able to use the iconic wall run to cross gaps and outmaneuver enemies through various venues, such as the aqueduct and the Grand Academy. Procedurally generated levels make a return through a variety of colorful biomes that are inspired by Persian Architecture, all of which the Prince will have to journey through with his wide array of weapons that offer varying playstyles such as twin daggers, spears, and much more.
ASADI, a Persian-American Electronic Music Producer and Performance Artist, will perform the soundtrack of the game, offering a fusion between traditional and modern sonorities, with rhythms supporting the moves and flow of the Prince.
The Rogue Prince of Persia is scheduled to enter Early Access on Steam on May 14, 2024.
