Oddworld: Soulstorm launches on April 6, confirmed PS Plus Free Game for PS5
While we didn’t get a lot correct on our predictions on the State of Play, parts of it did come true. One thing we did get right is one for Oddworld: Soulstorm, along with a release date to boot.
In Oddworld Soulstorm, the second of the quintology, we’re introduced again to Abe the Mudokon who’s become a leader of his people, the Mudokons. Now that the Gukkons have imprisoned his people, he feels compelled to save everyone amidst getting over his own impulse to first save himself.
On the writeup on the Playstation Blog, it is said that the environment is 2.9D, which brings out the depth and immersion. There’s a big emphasis on the PS5’s haptic feedback from its Dualsense controller being able to feel Abe’s heartbeat during suspense filled action sequences. As you save 1,000 of the Mudokons, you will be needing them as your makeshift army to fight the oppressive Gukkons who have captured your people.
What’s best is that Oddworld: Soulstorm will be available on April 6 for the PS4 and PS5, and PS Plus members will be able to download the PS5 version at no additional cost, adding to the already stacked slate of PS5 games given free through the service.
Oddworld Soulstorm is out on April 6 on PS4, PS5, and PC exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
