Top game releases for February 2020

January has come and gone and it was quite the start for gaming! We saw the release of the massive Monster Hunter World: Iceborne PC port, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for the anime fans out there, and then there was Warcraft III: Reforged.

It’s quite a tough act to follow, but February is willing to give it a go with a mix of old and new. Let’s see what’s in store for us as we check out the top game releases for February!

Dreams (February 14 – PS4)

There was nothing “little” about it when LittleBigPlanet released a few years back. While it was a platformer at heart, the biggest draw is the ability to create your own levels and share them for the world to enjoy. Media Molecules is looking to take that to the next level with Dreams.

Like their previous masterpiece, Dreams is another creation game where aside from following a campaign, you obtain tools to be able to create your own works of art. Yes, Dreams will let you create your own full fledged video games, artworks, music, and possibly even more! There’s already so much that has been shared by the community and it continues to boggle the mind how much further this can go, especially when the game goes live on February 14!

Granblue Fantasy Versus (February 6 – PS4)

Now now, put your Pitchforks down. While Granblue Fantasy Versus doesn’t have its Western release ’til March, Japan will have a taste of it first come February 6.

Granblue Fantasy is a relatively well known franchise from Japan, spreading across a multitude of mediums like an anime series, mobile game, RPGs, and now it’s getting its own 2D fighting game from one of the masters of the craft, Arc System Works. The game also offers a unique single player experience in the form of a side scrolling beat-em-up RPG! Arc System Works have proven to be one of the best at creating fantastic fighting game experiences so we should anticipate this to follow as the next big thing to look out for.

Darksiders Genesis (February 14 – PS4, Xbox One, Switch)

Darksiders has had multiple games under its wing but none like this latest offering. In Darksiders Genesis, we get to play a prequel that will have us switching between Strife and War in an isometric action RPG. The PC version released late last year to satisfactory reviews and in about a week, console players will get to experience this as it attempts to breathe new life into the series.

Dawn of Fear (February 3 – PS4)

A game from an indie developer, Dawn of Fear is a tribute to the Survival Horror genre. It would be also accurate to say it looks like a tribute to classic Resident Evil since the look and feel of the game is just that. A giant mansion? Check. Tank controls? Check. Multiple fixed camera angles? Check. Puzzles? Check. Limited resources? Check. The list goes on!

Only time will tell if it will live up to the hype but if you’re looking for some old school survival horror feels, this is surely up your alley.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition (February 14 – PS4, PC)

As is typical Capcom, Champion Edition is basically your good old Street Fighter V with all DLC and Characters included. One could say that it’s the most complete version to date, but then again, we may eat our words once ultra mega tournament hyper championship edition alpha comes along.

Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th. Anniversary Bundle (February 18 -PS4, XBox one)

No one can make games quite like Platinum can and fans will be able to give this claim a first hand experience as Bayonetta and Vanquish will be making a reappearance this February with the 10th Anniversary Bundle.

Stylish and fast paced, you’d be wrong to miss out on these classics, fully remastered in stunning 4K and 60FPS!

Devil May Cry 3 Special Editon (February 20 – Switch)

Devil May Cry 3 was a gem for its time and for many, a return to form for the Devil May Cry series back in the PS2 days. Years later, Switch fans will now get to know why thanks to this upcoming port! DMC3 is filled to the brim with classic DMC gameplay, but this time around you’ll get to play as Dante’s power hungry twin, Vergil, in all his glory.
