Disco Elysium The Final Cut pricey collector’s edition now available for pre-order

It’s halfway through February and there’s still no confirmed exact release date for Disco Elysium The Final Cut for its initial launch next month. While ZA/UM’s website and Twitter confidently shows a March 2021 release date, we’ve been burned before so forgive me for approaching this with some modicum of caution.

Though consider us excited when little tidbits are dropped on their Twitter account, such as the announcement of a collector’s edition courtesy of Iam8Bit.

Iam8bit is a company that creates custom collector’s sets for games and also provides a physical copy release for otherwise games that are relegated to exclusively digital purchases. While I’m not a big collector, I can appreciate fan service for games as big as this. Ironically, for a game that criticizes our current mode of global economy, this set will set you back $249.99USD (about 12,000 pesos and change).

What you’ll receive in the package:

  • Innovative ‘Layers of the Id’ Premium Box.
  • Hand-painted ‘Mind Totem’ Vinyl Sculpture.
  • 190+ Page Hardbound Art Book feat. previously unreleased art and stories
  • Illustrated fabric mpa of the District of Martinaise
  • Physical edition of the Disco Elysium with reversible cover housed in elegant slipcase
  • Region Free — Worldwide Compatibility

If you’re hoping for quick delivery, the expectation they’ve put on the site is Summer 2021, so no final release date as expected. On the site you can also find vinyl soundtracks for the game that would set you back another $60-$120 USD depending on the edition that you’ll purchase. I love this game, but not this much. At this rate, they should throw in a disco blazer for good measure.

Disco Elysium The Final Cut is scheduled to release on March 2021 on the PS5, PS4, Stadia, and iOS and an unspecified summer release for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
