Historically being a slow month, the June 2021 Game Releases appear stacked with quite a number of high profile titles such as the much awaited PS5 debut of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. There’s quite a lot here, from new games to great remasters, so fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a wild ride into the halfway mark of 2021!
June 2021 Game Releases
Operation Tango
Release Date: June 1, 2021
Platform: PS5, PS4, PC
Co-op games are a big hit this year with It Takes Two leading the way. We do miss playing along with a friend hence the appeal. Starting this month off is this promising indie game boasting the same co-op appeal while it looks equally fun when you play with a friend.
Chivalry 2
Release Date: June 8, 2021
Platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Taking the first game and raising it to eleven, this first person medieval action game is looking like a fantastic good time. With the beta just completed at the end of May, we’re looking forward to the final build of this game. It may not be Skyrim, but it’s something similar.
Ninja Gaiden Master Collection
Release Date: June 10, 2021
Platform: Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC
You can’t go wrong with Ninja Gaiden coming to your platform and with this collection holding most of Ninja Gaiden‘s greatest hits (save for the Sigma series), it’s a treat for fans and newcomers alike. This year is already full of amazing remasters and revisits, why not add an iconic ninja legend to your collection? Will there be a new entry to the series soon? You have a lot of time to go through this collection before that.
Pick of the Month: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
Release Date: June 10, 2021
Platform: Playstation 5
The next best thing to… well, Final Fantasy VII Remake 2. With the addition of best girl Yuffie and better lighting effects for the PS5, it’s almost a no-brainer to carry over your copy to the next gen. The Yuffie DLC will give players a good intro to our favorite materia thief, and will hopefully hold a couple of surprises here and there to get us hyped for part 2.
Pick of the Month 2: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Release Date: June 11, 2021
Platform: Playstation 5
Starting from April, the exclusives for the PS5 just keep coming with one high profile out every month. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is no stranger to that. Having revisited the PS4’s remake of the original 2002 Ratchet and Clank, I’m curious how they’ve utilized an already addictive action action to the extent of PS5’s capabilities. It’s looking very promising and having a back-to-back offering with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, June is looking fantastic.
Guilty Gear Strive
Release Date: June 11, 2021
Platform: PS5, PS4, PC
Guilty Gear Strive is looking really crisp as expected, with amazing animation and fluid-looking fight moves. Trying out the beta, it is a must-buy for fighting game enthusiasts looking forward to a quality fighting title. With only King of Fighters XV around the corner, this title doesn’t have much going against it. Just the intro cutscenes alone and punching your opponent into a new space blows my mind on the dynamics they’ve added to the typical fighting game.
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance
Release Date: June 22, 2021
Platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox One X|S, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Here’s another co-op game to try with friends. This time, you wouldn’t need a Dungeon Master crunching all the numbers, you’ll just let your controllers do that for you! There hasn’t been a big Dungeons and Dragons video game out for a while, so this is looking pretty awesome to try out solo or with friends.
Legend of Mana Remastered
Release Date: June 24, 2021
Platform: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC
Legends of Mana is one of those PSOne Classics that have been overshadowed by other great games in its time namely Vagrant Story, Front Mission 3, and Final Fantasy IX. However, those who have gone through it, there are quite a lot of disparate stories that inspire fond memories and a pretty fun battle system. It’s great to revisit it come June.
Mario Golf: Super Rush
Release Date: June 25, 2021
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Mario’s due out for another sports title as we currently haven’t had any in a couple of years. Having a very different style of golf game would be fun to try out as a party game and many friendships would be strengthened or ruined with the outcome of the many matches.
Scarlet Nexus
Release Date: June 24, 2021
Platform: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
Here’s a game we expected last year after the reveal in the Xbox Showcase, but it’s slowed to a crawl and didn’t show any new developer diaries until early this year. It’s great to have a final release date. With Tales of the Arise launching on September, this year’s looking like aces for JRPGs this year.
