God of War Ragnarok Rumored to be 40 Hours Long

God of War Ragnarok is fast approaching. As the launch date draws closer, insiders have claimed that the upcoming adventure from Kratos and Atreus will be 40 hours long.

Notable insider Tom Henderson, writing on the aptly named website Insider Gaming, has claimed that the game will be 40 hours in length, according to their sources. 40 hours is said to be the entire experience, but the main story will be around 20 hours which is further divided into 3.5 hours of cinematics and 16.5 hours of actual gameplay.

Sources have said that around 3 and a half hours of the 20 hours played will be cinematic scenes, with the remaining 16 and a half hours for gameplay.

The other 20 hours of game time is to complete all of the additional side quests, with around 19 hours dedicated to gameplay and an additional 1 hour of cinematics.

Compared to the first game released back in 2018, God of War Ragnarok will run at around the same length based on the main storyline, according to the HowLongToBeat website. Taken as a whole, however, this latest game is longer when the side quests and activities are considered.

Of course, mileage may vary, but if these estimates prove to be true, then players are in for another worthwhile adventure.
