NCSOFT has unveiled Project LLL, an upcoming open-world MMO shooter that’s currently in development for consoles and PC.

In an interview with Project Leader Seeder Jaehyun Bae, he shares new gameplay footage along with a developer video that reveals new information about the game, which is being built in the latest version of Unreal Engine and is currently scheduled for 2024.

“We wanted to create a new genre that is completely different from the recently popular looter shooter or battle royale. We want to create a new market that is exclusive to NC with a new IP that incorporates the keywords ‘shooter,’ ‘MMO,’ and ‘open world,'” shares Bae. “We are developing a project that combines different play styles and elements from NC’s previous games, and we are very excited to share a sneak peek with our community.”

Bae also states some of the inspiration of the team for the lore of the game, which includes the likes of Dune, whereas Total Recall and Blade Runner being inspirations for its technology themes and alternate history.
