L3x, the developer of the game, mentioned that the first time this character made an appearance was during a game jam, with an intention of having Jollibae run after the character in the later stages of the game. Due to a lack of time, this was never completed.

“We made the decision to create a quick game without taking part in a game jam after our most recent game jam participation so we could properly polish it.”

“Before tackling a more serious project, we truly wanted to create a parody horror game that is occasionally humorous, absurd, and a little frightening.”

“A horror-themed spoof of the well-known fast food chain Jollibee, which has always been a part of our childhood, Jollibae is a kind of homage to those bygone days when we were still small.”

Just earlier this month, L3x pointed out that Jollibae was #9 among the popular games on Itch, and it eventually rose to #3 as of earlier today.

SYNOPSIS

A well-known professional eater signed up to participate in an annual eating competition sponsored by the well-known fast-food chain Jollibae with the promise of an incredible prize, but after learning about the branch’s history, things are not what they seem.

Jollibae is a horror parody game of a popular fast food restaurant Jollibee. In this game, the player assumes control of a professional eater taking part in a challenge that Jollibae has set up. In addition to learning about the history of the locations, the player must eat and work through easy puzzles to win a mystery prize.
