It’s a free-to-play game with many quality-of-life features
Guild of Guardians, like many mobile RPGs, is free to play, making the barrier to entry almost non-existent! Players can progress through the game without spending real money, which is a huge selling point for those seeking a new gaming experience.
Of course, like in many free-to-play games, microtransactions are present, but the choice of purchasing these items belongs to the player. If you choose to purchase items, you can gain access to great rewards to help you on your adventure, but even without spending, Guild of Guardians is generous with its rewards that allow players to advance and unlock the many modes and features of the game without worry.
The game also has a lot of quality-of-life features, such as auto-skill, x2 speed battles, and more, to make the game easier to pick up and enjoy.
It features exciting Gacha pulls
Guild of Guardians will offer players Summoning Stones and Rubies to test their luck in pulling awesome legendary Guardians like Thorit, Atticus, and many more to use in combat. This mechanic is well-known and has been used in many successful games worldwide!
Gacha mechanics will sometimes test the patience of the players, but the joy of finally getting that Guardian you’ve been waiting for is next to none. In case you get duplicates, don’t fear! You can Enlighten your chosen Guardian to unlock their full potential, giving them additional stats, a new upgrade path, and making them tradable.
Additionally, Guild of Guardians has a pity system where players will get a guaranteed Legendary Guardian after 30 Calling Crystal pulls! This system ensures that your hard-earned resources are never put to waste, and after enough pulls, you can slowly fill your party with Legendary Guardians who can take the fight to even the toughest foes.
It has deep and clever squad-based combat mechanics
Guardians that you acquire in-game can be used in squad-based combat. Players will need to form a strategy to figure out where certain Guardians will be effective because squad composition is key due to positional advantages and domain element strengths and weaknesses, which will provide players with a bonus heading into battle.
Domain synergies, which give buffs and extra bonuses to party members of the same alignment, are effective tools to ensure that you have a leg up on the competition. Likewise, enemies have domain synergies as well, so you’ll need to think of ways to gain the upper hand against them.
As a Commander, victory will depend on how well you manage your team of Guardians, whether it be deciding their positions or what equipment you give them. Unlike other idle RPGs, you will need to constantly evolve your strategies as levels and enemies become increasingly difficult, and the tactical use of your Guardians’ offensive and defensive skills will be important.
Multiple classes and characters to choose from
There are 6 known classes of Guardians: Warriors, Tanks, Assassins, Rangers, Mages, and Support. Guardians will also come in various forms, and with the game offering more or less 200 different Guardians, there will likely be somebody who will be your preferred character to do battle with.
You can level up your favorite Guardians and kit them with weapons and equipment, empowering them further to take on the challenges that lie ahead. As your Commander levels up, so too does your combat power, as you can bring more Guardians to battle after hitting a certain level.
One can’t be careless when using your Guardians on the battlefield, as they come in various classes that you will need to manage to be effective. Bringing a party full of tanks will result in a lack of damage, so make sure to also use a combination of healers and damage dealers to beat those dungeon bosses!
There are modes for all players
The land of Elderym is threatened by a force known as The Dread, and it’s the Guardians’ duty to stop them. As the commander of your guardians, you can spend your time in Guild of Guardians playing in various modes, like Adventure or Endless mode.
Adventure will enable you to progress through the story by battling in various areas. On the other hand, if you wish to strengthen your Guardians without being required to advance, Endless will offer you a chance to battle to your heart’s content.
Additionally, the game also offers Arena and Boss Rush competitions for more gameplay variety.
You can join Guilds and meet fellow Guardians
You don’t need to take on the Dread alone, as you can fight the good fight with other Commanders by joining a guild. Compared to fighting alone, being part of a guild offers a different experience, like some shared challenges and exclusive rewards.
Joining a guild is also a very good way to meet new friends who share the same passion for gaming!
You can own and trade Guardians
It goes without saying that the higher your Guardians levels are as you play, the better they do in combat. But it’s also possible to strengthen them through Enlightenment and Ascension. Once Guardians ascend to the level of Radiant Guardians, they can be transferred or traded.
Guild of Guardians blends mobile RPG gameplay with Blockchain Technology to offer an ecosystem where Commanders can safely trade and transfer their personally owned Radiant Guardians.
There’s a massive Act 1 Global Launch Event
Guild of Guardians organized a huge event to celebrate the launch of its first Act. On the game’s release date, Guild of Guardians celebrated the launch of “Act 1: The Dread is Here” by premiering a cinematic launch trailer and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the game from the creators themselves.
There were also giveaways, and these all happened on the game’s Discord server. Specifically, to celebrate the launch, there is up to $1M prize pool of $GOG prizes up for grabs in their first Leaderboard Event. Players can climb the ranks to earn valuable rewards like Founder NFTs and Ascendant Seals!
The Global Launch Roadmap Looks Promising
Based on the roadmap, the developers have a lot in store for Guild of Guardians players. The Act 1 launch event is just the beginning, as later on in the game there will be more fun activities for Guilds like Raids and Crafting when Act 2, entitled “Guardians Unite,” arrives on June 26, 2024.
What is especially intriguing is the Act 3 release of Legendary creatures and pets. Entitled “Divine Beasts Emerge” and launching on August 15, the update will include new modes and web3 features, and while there aren’t too many details yet, the development team is making sure to keep engaged with the community and providing more updates as the months go by.
Guild of Guardians is now available for iOS, Android, and PC.
