The highly anticipated collaboration event between Sonic and Godzilla in Sonic Rumble is finally here, and players can now enjoy some glorious kaiju action in pint-sized form. The event runs until January 21, giving players a whole month to play and earn the skin and other goodies from the collaboration.

During the Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration event, a new event pass will be available, allowing players to make progress simply by playing the game.
Alternatively, players can purchase the premium pass, unlocking another reward track that opens up more items, currency, and other premium skins.
Event Pass Details
The biggest rewards from the pass are available on both the free and premium tracks, meaning all players can earn rewards whichever way they choose to play.
In the free pass, rewards like the base Godzilla skin, the heat ray skill, and the Fire Rodan buddy are available to claim after reaching a certain pass level. Play, collect points, and unlock the tiers one by one to get the coveted Godzilla skin. It’ll be quite the grind, so keep on playing!
The premium track holds a far more intriguing skin. Players who choose to unlock the premium track will be treated to an epic King Ghidorah skin and two legendary skills: King Ghidorah’s Gravity Beam and Godzilla’s Nuclear Pulse.
Godzilla Skin and Skills
Godzilla will have two skills to acquire during the Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration. Similar to other skills, both Heat Ray and Nuclear Pulse can be upgraded further, with each having their own cooldown timers and rings earned if they connect.

Mechagodzilla and Destoroyah Skin Bundles
There are two other skins that players can acquire during the Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration: Mechagodzilla and Desoroyah. Neither is part of the event pass and can only be obtained by spending Red Star Rings. Red Star Rings are a premium currency in Sonic Rumble, which you can get via events, friend referrals, and other means.
Each skin will cost 729 Red Star Rings, so you’ll need to spend quite a lot to get these premium skins, but on the bright side, these skin bundles will already come with their skills.

Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration Special Game Mode
Of course, on top of the skins, the main attraction of the Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration is the new survival stage where players are tasked to “Survive Godzilla’s Rampage.” Three boats will be lined up, and players must switch between them to survive Godzilla, who destroys them with his heat ray or other attacks.
In this survival round, players can only respawn once before they are eliminated, making each match a frenetic and fast-paced affair. There are jump pads that allow players to switch between boats, but beware of other players and obstacles that will try to ruin your day.
Other Rewards
During the Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration, players can also obtain other rewards to boost the experience. Throughout the levels, special crates will be scattered among the rings for players to collect, and these will play a part in a daily raffle in exchange for more rewards like rings and other special items.
Alternatively, players can also complete missions to receive more crates to use in the raffle, which will further unlock more items like Godzilla-themed nameplates and effects.
Overall, the Sonic Rumble Godzilla Collaboration is a great content addition to the game. The animations of the skins are fantastic, and the amount of rewards on offer is plentiful despite only having one special game mode added.
There will be a bit of a grind before players can unlock the base Godzilla skin through the free track of the event pass, and the premium skins, such as Mechagodzilla and Destoroyah, are pretty pricey, so only true fans and dedicated players will really shell out the cash for them.
