In a nutshell

- Diablo IV expansion Lord of Hatred introduces the Warlock class.
- Both updates mark Diablo’s 30th anniversary with new content across the franchise.
Blizzard has officially launched Diablo II: Resurrected on Steam, expanding the game’s availability beyond Battle.net. Alongside the release, players can dive into the brand-new DLC, Reign of the Warlock, which introduces fresh content to the remastered classic.
The Reign of the Warlock update marks a historic moment for Diablo II: Resurrected, introducing the first new playable class in 25 years, the Warlock. This dark scholar specializes in forbidden arts, binding demons, wielding eldritch weapons, and unleashing chaotic forces. Players can choose from three skill trees: Demonic Binding, which enslaves demons like Goatmen or Defilers to fight alongside them; Eldritch Weapons, which imbue arms with hexes and allow dual-wielding two-handed weapons with an offhand; and Chaos, which manipulates hellfire and void energy to rain devastation from afar.
Beyond the new class, the update expands gameplay with Terror Zones that rotate every 30 minutes, offering heightened difficulty and rewards, and introduces the Colossal Ancients, a pinnacle boss gauntlet that grows stronger as each foe falls. New items include Warlock-specific Grimoires, unique sets like Horazon’s Splendor, and powerful runewords. There are also quality-of-life improvements, such as loot filters, advanced stash tabs, and the Chronicle system for item tracking, that streamline gameplay.
The expansion is available as DLC or bundled in the Infernal Edition, with cross-game rewards in Diablo IV and World of Warcraft. Overall, Reign of the Warlock delivers both fresh content and long-requested player enhancements, revitalizing the classic while deepening its modern iteration.

Diablo IV Expansion – Lord of Hatred
Meanwhile, Diablo IV continues its dark journey with the announcement of its upcoming expansion, Lord of Hatred. The expansion introduces the Warlock class, a powerful new archetype that harnesses dark magic to manipulate enemies and bolster allies.
Alongside the class reveal, the spotlight showcased the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion, which introduces the new region of Skovos—a marble-carved, eerie land steeped in Sanctuary’s ancient history. Temis, its capital, will serve as a streamlined endgame hub after the campaign concludes.

This addition expands the roster of playable classes, offering fans new strategies and playstyles as they battle against Mephisto and the forces of Hell. The Warlock’s arrival ties into the broader narrative of Lord of Hatred, promising fresh storylines and endgame content.
The expansion also revamps endgame systems with War Plans, a customizable playlist of activities like Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and Lair Bosses, and Echoing Hatred, a rare event featuring escalating waves of Mephisto’s legions. System-wide updates include a massively expanded skill tree with over 120 new options, the introduction of Talismans and Charms for set bonuses, and the debut of the Horadric Cube in Diablo IV.
