After a fantastic August lineup that saw Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, September isn’t letting up on the throttle as Street Fighter V and PUBG will be your free games for next month.

As per the PlayStation Blog, both titles will be making their way to the PS Plus service on September 1. Check out both titles below:

If you haven’t had a chance to download both Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, you’ve got until August 31 to secure that crown!

As usual, both Street Fighter V and PUBG will be free for PlayStation Plus Subscribers only.

Sony’s latest financial report has now been made public and reveals that the worldwide sales for the PlayStation 4 has now hit 112.3 million units, inching closer and closer to the Game Boy/Game Boy Color which stands at 118.69 million.

While the sales for the quarter have gone down by 1.3 million from the same time last year (which sold 3.2 million), PS Plus subscriptions have hit 45 million, which is a dramatic increase from last May, that can possibly be attributed to the prevailing COVID-19 conditions around the world, prompting players to go digital.

Interestingly, 74% of game sales for the quarter were digital, which received contributions from The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, which became the fastest selling PS4 exclusive and the record holder for a new sales IP respectively.

This trend could continue all the way to the PlayStation 5, which revealed a digital version of the upcoming console, possibly being cheaper and the choice a lot of users will go for.

No price has been given for the PlayStation 5 yet, as the next State of Play event will feature PS4 and PS VR titles, which goes to show that Sony is still very much interested in keeping the PlayStation 4 supported even after the launch of the PlayStation 5.

Following the 10th year anniversary of PlayStation Plus which saw July get NBA 2K20, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Erica as your free games, August is serving up a couple of fantastic games to tickle your single and multiplayer fancy.

The PlayStation Blog has announced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remasterd and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout are your free games for the month of August.

Tagged as one of the best campaigns in the history of Call of Duty, jump back into the action with Soap, Price, and Ghost in a remaster that is sure to spark some nostalgia.

Even better, the game will be available for download as early as tonight until August 31.

How does a 60-person ‘Takeshi’s Castle’ sound like to you? With Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, you can live your dreams of being a contestant in a wacky and frantic free-for-all that’s sure to be a blast.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be available at a later date, starting August 4.

As always, both are free as long as you have a running PlayStation Plus subscription active.

Enjoy and Happy 10th PS Plus Anniversary!

In celebration of PS Plus hitting its 10th year anniversary, Sony is giving out 2 fantastic titles for July. Coming from a great June which hosted Call of Duty: WWII and Star Wars Battlefront II, July is equally as impressive and will feature NBA2K20 and Rise of the Tomb Raider!

The PlayStation Blog has announced that these titles will be free to download for subscribers starting July 7 until August 3 and will be available across R1 and R3 accounts.

Check out the trailers below:

As a special bonus, the cinematic game Erica will be given as well!

Later in the week, a free PS Plus theme will be given in commemoration of 10 years and will be available for a limited time only so watch out!

Are you excited about the lineup for July? Was it a lineup worthy of a 10 year anniversary? Let us know in the comments below!

So the leak was right all along. Now officially joining Call of Duty WWII and rounding up the PS Plus Free Games for June is none other than Star Wars Battlefront II!

It’s as official as official can get, as announced by the PlayStation Blog, both of these fine shooters should more than make up what was a fairly lackluster May offering.

Check out both game trailers below:

Call of Duty: WWII is already available for download and Star Wars Battlefront II will be available for download starting June 2. Both games will be available for download until July 6.

Take note that this is the official lineup for R1 / US accounts and R3 / Asian accounts may differ, although all signs seem to point towards the same lineup similar to previous months, but we’ll wait for PlayStation Asia to officially announce it soon.

Coming from a relatively ‘lackluster’ May offering with Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator 19, PS Plus is bringing out the big guns once again and have announced the first of two games early, and it is a good one.

None other than the official PlayStation Twitter account (among others) confirmed that Call of Duty: WWII will be one of the games that will be included in the PS Plus offering for June. Check out the announcement below:

You’ll be able to download the game earlier than usual, May 26 as indicated in the announcement, but take note that this is for R1 / US accounts so R3 / Asian accounts may have a different lineup, we’ll have to wait for official word from PlayStation Asia.

Update: PlayStation Asia has confirmed this as well and is now available for download starting today!

The second of the free games for June will be revealed later in the week. Any guesses?

Business has been good for Sony and the PlayStation 4.

As evidenced by their latest financial report for the fiscal year that ended last March 31, 2020, the PS4 has sold a whopping 110.4 million units, putting it in a comfortable 4th position in the list of best selling game consoles, now a mere 8 million units behind 3rd placers Game Boy / Game Boy Color from Nintendo.

Equally impressive is the number of PS Plus subscribers, totalling 41.5 million, as digital services and subscriptions may continue to trend upwards due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

Speaking of COVID-19, it is noteworthy that the PS5, despite all of the news about possible manufacturing delays, is still scheduled for the Holidays of 2020, as can be seen through the above report on page 20:

Regarding the launch of PlayStation®5, although factors such as employees working from home and restrictions on international travel have presented some challenges in regards to part of the testing process and the qualification of production lines, development is progressing with the launch of the console scheduled for the 2020 holiday season. At this point in time major problems have not arisen in the game software development pipeline for Sony’s own first-party studios or its partners’ studios.

With the impending release of the next generation consoles towards the end of the year, the PS4 may not sell enough to topple the Game Boy in lifetime sales but The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima may give it one last push to take over that third place.

We’ve yet to hear concrete details for the PS5 but if the ongoing reports are true, the next couple of weeks may be the time when Sony will unveil their next generation offering.

April featured fantastic games in Uncharted: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0 and this time around, prepare for a set of relaxing and cerebral games, quite the exact opposite of the frantic titles from last month.

Cities: Skylines is an acclaimed city builder sim from Paradox Interactive that will test your wits and smarts as you lead your city into prosperity.

From city to farm, Farming Simulator 19 from GIANTS Software will let you live out your farming fantasies as you plant and harvest your way through various farming activities and a number of vehicles to try out.

Both of these titles will be free to download for PS Plus subscribers and will be available starting May 5 until June 1. Do note that this lineup is for R1 / US accounts as sometimes, the lineup for R3 accounts tend to be different.

Update: A post by PlayStation Asia has revealed that R3 / Asian accounts will have the same lineup.

It turns out the leak was true all along. There were a lot of signs pointing to it being an April Fool’s prank but as confirmed by Sony themselves, PS Plus owners are going to get 2 fantastic games this April in both Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and DiRT Rally 2.0.

Uncharted 4 is the critically acclaimed adventure from Naughty Dog which features none other than Nathan Drake in his final (final?) escapade while DiRT Rally 2.0 features rally racing at its finest from Codemasters.

Both games will be ready for download on April 7 until May 4 and as always, you’ll need a PS Plus subscription active to avail of these games.

Make sure to download Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces before they exit the rotation!
