Sony is giving away 2 free games as part of their “Play at Home” initiative, PS Plus not required

As a way of expressing gratitude to everyone who has been helping out in containing the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak by staying home, Sony has announced a Play at Home initiative by giving out Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for free.

Starting April 15 until May 5, PlayStation users will be able to download digital copies of both games for free and will be yours to keep once redeemed. Most importantly, a PS Plus subscription is not required, so this is slightly different from the usual monthly PS Plus games given for subscribers.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection compiles the first 3 games in the franchise, fully remastered for the current generation while Journey is most probably one of the best games you may never have heard of, and is a personal favorite of Shuhei Yoshida himself.

Users in Germany and China will have Knack 2 and Journey instead.

As part of the Play at Home initiative, Sony is also allotting a $10 Million fund to support their independent development partners who may be struggling in this time of need.
