Gamescom Opening Night Live to feature over 20 games, scheduled for August 27
With E3 ‘season’ now done and dusted, we now head into Gamescom territory, and while it was cancelled this year due to COVID, an online event will be held in its place on August 27.
Host Geoff Keighley went on to tease the event by saying that there will be more than 20 games that will be shown on opening night, which is about a couple of weeks away from now. There will be more reveals as we approach the 27th, so expect big news as the event date nears.
Knowing this is Gamescom, an event similar to E3 in scale and importance, expect some big announcements that have yet to be revealed.
As if that wasn’t enough, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park fame will be writing the theme song for opening night, which ensures that whatever happens, we’re in for a rocking party.
Many publishers have gone on to have their own presentations like EA and Ubisoft, which could very well spell out how gaming events could be held from now on. August is shaping up to be a big month, and if the rumor of the next PlayStation 5 event is true, then we could be in for a treat.
