Ex-Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime announces a new gaming company called Dreamhaven

In what sounds like a big reunion of former Blizzard vets, Ex CEO Mike Morhaime announces Dreamhaven, a new game company that will create and publish original games.

As announced on their official website, Dreamhaven already has two studios under its belt in Moonshot Games and Secret Door, both of which are headed by names with incredible portfolios.

Moonshot Games is led by Jason Chayes, Dustin Browder, and Ben Thompson. Chayes was an Executive Producer at Blizzard for Hearthstone, Browder was a Game Director on StarCraft II, and Thompson was Creative Director for Hearthstone.

The team at Secret Door boasts of heavy hitters too in the form of Chris Sigaty, Alan Dabiri, and Eric Dodds. Sigaty served as Executive Producer on Hearthstone, StarCraft II, and Heroes of the Storm, as well as Lead Producer on the original Warcraft III. Dodds was the original Game Director of Hearthstone while Dabiri was both Technical and Game Director for titles like Warcraft III.

“I’m excited to team up with such talented people who care deeply about games and their communities. I’ve always believed in the power of games to bring people together regardless of backgrounds or boundaries. With Dreamhaven, we look forward to creating and sharing new experiences with players everywhere” says Morhaime.

With studios comprised of talent of that caliber, we can expect only good things from this company in the future, hopefully bringing back that good old Blizzard magic along with them.
