Metal Gear Solid is rumored to get a full remake for the PlayStation 5 and PC

In case the PlayStation 5 launch lineup has not convinced you to secure a unit for yourself, this rumor might be the one you are waiting for.

As per Push Square, Youtube channel RedGamingTech has some interesting details that point to a Metal Gear Solid remake being developed for both the PS5 and PC, even going far enough to say that it would be a PS5 console exclusive.

You can view the video below, with the Metal Gear discussion happening at the 15:32 mark.

RedGamingTech has supposedly provided some accurate leaks before, so this could be another one to add to his record if indeed true. He goes on to say that his sources are “pretty damn positive it exists” and while there are a lot of other details that he cannot say, one thing that he can say is that “it is not a port, it is a full remake.”

RedGamingTech continues with the claim that Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 are also being re-released, but as remasters and not a remake.

While we have no reason to fully believe this rumor yet, the speculation about Metal Gear Solid 2 getting a re-release aligns with a recent Taiwan Game Ratings listing that indeed shows both Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance along with Metal Gear and Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania and Contra getting PC ports.

This is to be taken with a massive grain of salt, but really big if proven to be true.
