Genshin Impact for the Switch reportedly delayed due to issues with the hardware

Genshin Impact is one of the biggest games in the market right now, especially in the mobile space, where it saw $1 Billion in revenue in less than 6 months. At the moment, the game is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, with a Switch version incoming, although it seems that Switch owners will have to wait a bit longer if a report is to be believed.

According to Genshin Impact leaker Genshin Report, who prefaces the Q&A session with a “Please take these with a grain of salt. Everything is subject to change” disclaimer, it was mentioned that the Switch version will release likely sometime this year, and it seems that the reason for this is because the game has been having issues with weaker hardware.

Genshin Report goes on to say that it might even get pushed back further, or even be a Switch Pro (or whatever the name of the new Switch hardware will be) exclusive.

This is quite unfortunate, as Genshin Impact would be a perfect fit for Nintendo’s portable device, but performance is certainly a consideration as well. Some mobile devices have a hard time playing the game, and it stands to reason that the weaker hardware, the Switch in this case compared to the PS4 / PS5, possibly has similar issues.

Are you waiting for a Switch version of the game before playing Genshin Impact?
