Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 next-gen updates delayed to 2022

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 waiting for next-gen updates for the PS5 and Xbox Series before playing it (again) will have to wait a little bit longer as CD Projekt Red has announced that they have delayed both next-gen updates to 2022, initially scheduled for 2021.

No specific reason was given, but a statement given by the company says that they have decided to postpone the updates “based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games”

While no target launch date has been specified, CDPR states that the target launch window for the Cyberpunk 2077 update is Q1 2022 and Q2 2022 for The Witcher: Wild Hunt.

Cyberpunk 2077 faced huge backlash from the community after its rocky launch, leading to various refund schemes and even its removal from the PlayStation store for a number of months. It would be safe to say that the company is now listening closely to the dev team regarding this decision, as they may need more time to polish up and make sure that the updates are up to par.

Have you played Cyberpunk 2077 already or are you, like many, waiting for the next-gen update?
