Ever since the launch of the Nintendo Switch OLED model back in October of last year, many people familiar with the technology were interested to see how long it would take before image burn-in would occur, which is an issue with OLED screens. It seems that a Youtuber has found the answer, and the signs are at least encouraging.

Bob Wulff of the Wulff Den posted a video sharing an update to his initial 1,800-hour test, now saying that after 3,600 hours, his Nintendo Switch OLED has some signs of burn-in. It’s taken him 6 months, but seeing progress in this scenario is not exactly good news. All things considered though, that’s a lot of time before burn-in sets in, especially with the handheld actually running a static image for 24 hours a day.

The main point here is that there’s really nothing to worry about with regards to image burn-in when using the Nintendo Switch OLED on a regular basis under regular circumstances. Of course, mileage may vary, but generally speaking, owners of the OLED model have nothing to worry about.
