What would The Game Awards be without Hideo Kojima? This year, he wasn’t only there to make an appearance but also to reveal Death Stranding 2, or DS2, for the PlayStation 5. No release date was mentioned but the game is officially in development.

As with all of his past masterpieces, the latest title will be produced, written, directed and designed by Hideo Kojima himself. The cast announced so far includes Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Troy Baker.

Additionally, Kojima gave the audience more than they bargained for, staying up on stage for a bit to have a chat with Geoff Keighley to talk about the game and what fans can expect from it, including finding a lot of tidbits that Kojima has slyly inserted in the trailer.
