Hawkeye is the first post-launch hero for Marvel’s Avengers, beta testing details revealed
The second Marvel’s Avengers War Table, which you can watch in full HERE, has just concluded and with it, a host of new details for the upcoming game including a new character reveal that everyone will be getting post-launch.
Hawkeye, not sporting the faux-hawk look from the MCU, will take his talents and join the roster as the first post-launch character for free and will have his own set of story missions once he arrives, which Crystal Dynamics has not specified when it will be.
Also revealed during the War Table was the extent of the upcoming demo that the players will be able to experience. There will be 3 separate dates for beta testing, with August 7 being the first salvo for PlayStation pre-orders, 14 for Xbox and PC pre-orders, and 21 as an open beta for all.
The beta will take players through the Golden Gate bridge scene, a 25 minute run through which culminates into a boss fight against Taskmaster. From then, the missions open up and will feature a couple of hero missions featuring Kamala Khan and the Hulk.
The best part of the beta will be the War Zone missions, which are meant to be tackled with other players. You can also choose to use either Iron Man, Black Widow, The Hulk, and Kamala Khan across these missions, giving you various playstyles to choose from for a pretty solid experience.
HARM rooms, or Holographic Augmented Reality Machine rooms, are basically combat training simulators that allow you to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game and will be available as well. Drop Zones are single objective smaller missions which yield useful rewards for you and your team.
Of course, character and gear progression will also be available in the beta, allowing you to unlock skills and test our builds to play the way you want to.
The Hulkbuster is also available for use during the beta. Talk about a LOT of content!
Watch out for the Marvel’s Avengers beta as it becomes available starting August 7!
