Harry Potter game reportedly scheduled to release in 2021, will come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

The long rumored Harry Potter game has now gotten some form of “legitimate” backing, as per reports by Jason Schreier on Bloomberg.

Based on the report, the Harry Potter game is planned for a late 2021 release across multiple platforms which includes the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and is being described as a “game that will let players role-play as wizards and roam a vast, open-world re-creation of Hogwarts and its surrounding areas.”

These details come from two people who are currently working on the project, according to Schreier. The game is currently in development at Avalanche Software, a WB owned studio whose recent works include titles like Disney Infinity and Cars 2.

According to further statements, despite the challenges that the title has been facing like its association to JK Rowling or event the looming rumors of a WB games sale, the game is still on schedule for release next year.

With E3 out of the picture, WB Games is still looking to announce the new Batman game in August during the DC FanDome event alongside a possible Suicide Squad reveal, with the Harry Potter title being announced much later.
