The Last of Us 2 will ship in 2 discs and take up at least 100GB

So if you don’t know yet, it was revealed last year by Twitter user Wario64 that The Last of Us 2 will be spread out across 2 discs. What we didn’t know then is how big the game will actually be when it is released.

If this is proof enough, then we know that the game will take up at least 100GB of space.

A PlayStation pre-order page for The Last of Us 2 clearly defines the requirements of the game and apart from the 2 disc specification, it clearly also says that a minimum of 100GB is required, similar to Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Amid the talk of the “New Normal” during these times, it seems that the trend of these Triple A titles being over 100GB is also the new normal, and we can possibly expect larger games come the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The Last of Us 2 is scheduled to release on June 19 as confirmed by Sony and pre-orders are back up on your respective PSN regional storefronts.
