Ghost of Tsushima sells 2.4 million units in 3 days, breaks PS4 new IP sales record

Ghost of Tsushima is a hit. Japan loved it, and turns out the whole world did as well.

PlayStation has announced that Ghost of Tsushima is the ‘fastest selling first-party original IP debut’, with 2.4 million units sold over its first 3 days.

That is certainly not an easy feat, especially for a new IP. In comparison, Horizon Zero Dawn, which has become one of the best games of this console generation, sold over 2.6 million units over its first 2 weeks.

The PlayStation 4 has been home to spectacular exclusives this generation – The Last of Us Part II, Days Gone, Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War… The list goes on. Ghost of Tsushima now officially joins the list.

As we approach the end of this console generation, the PlayStation 5 is banking on these heavy hitters to tow them to success. With the likes of Horizon Forbidden West and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, they seem to be on the right track once again.
