The Last of Us TV Series will feature a ‘Jaw Drop’ moment that wasn’t in the game
Apart from the fact that it is ‘The Last of Us’, Craig Mazin has a big reason for all of us to tune into the show when it releases.
As part of an interview on the program BBC Must Watch, Mazin reveals that the upcoming show will have what’s called a “Jaw Drop” moment that wasn’t part of the original game, as he was having a conversation with Neil Druckmann. “Neil, at one point he was like, ‘You know, there’s one thing we were talking about for a while, and then he told me what it was, and I was like, GONK! OK, jaw drop, that’s going in. We have to do that. You couldn’t stop me from doing that, you will have to shoot me to stop me from doing that, so we’re doing that.”
Apparently, there were a “few” things like that during their conversations, so expect new stories and angles to pop up during the show, which is sure to get fans excited as we dive deeper into the world of Joel and Ellie.
Mazin also assured fans that the series will be something to look forward to, saying “Our goal is not to keep you in love with The Last of Us, but to make you fall in love with it again in a different way. It’s a passive way of taking it in, instead of playing it, but you’ll be experiencing more, with more characters in more ways.”
“If you have played the game, our intention is that you will watch the show and say ‘this has violated nothing of what I loved about the game, and what I witnessed in the game, but it has also brought me a whole lot more – things I did not know, really amazing things’.”
The show is still currently in its writing phase and actual production has been a challenge due to the prevailing COVID conditions around the world, but based on what we know so far about it, the upcoming show will be a treat for fans and non-fans alike.
