Genshin Impact will not be coming to the Xbox

MiHoYo is currently enjoying massive success due to Genshin Impact, its latest release for the PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices. It has become the biggest globally launched Chinese title ever, raking in over 17 million mobile downloads just in its first 4 days. The game will continue to grow and expand into the next generation of consoles including a Nintendo Switch port, but sadly, Genshin Impact will not be coming to the Xbox.

In an interview with IGN Japan, MiHoYo have confirmed that “We currently don’t have any plans for an Xbox version of the game.” The reason for such was not indicated, so it could mean a number of things which no one is sure of at the moment. It could make its way soon, but it’s really anyone’s guess.

MiHoYo have also confirmed that there are already plans in place regarding the game appearing on next-gen consoles, which will not be straighforward ports, but will feature visual enhancements to take advantage of the hardware.

Players of the game have a lot to look forward to, as the devs have also confirmed that they are “developing even more content and gameplay while also releasing updates and optimizations. So, the product that goes online isn’t the ‘final version’, but rather the ‘first step’.” MiHoYo have specified that more characters and even a third city are in the works.

Genshin Impact is a fantastic free-to-play game that has serious polish and content, including a Japanese cast of voice actors that is truly star studded, to say the least.

Genshin Impact is now available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version coming soon.
