Hearthstone and the latest expansion Scholomance Academy have had a lot of events since its release and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down as the newest in-game event, the Masquerade Ball, is next on the list!

The Tavern will undergo a makeover for the Masquerade Ball limited-time event and will feature brand new content (unlocking weekly) which includes Tavern Brawls, the return of Dual-Class Arena, a new Hearthstone Book of Heroes solo experience and more.

You can check out the event trailer below:

Starting tomorrow, September 30, players will be able to recruit and wield the awesome power of Elementals in Battlegrounds. The update will bring four new Heroes, 16 new minions, a new progression system, and a ratings reset.

Dual-Class Arenas will also make a return, and all players will be given one free Arena ticket to join in on the fun. These arenas are only available during the event!

New Tavern Brawls will also make their way as part of the event, and you can see the schedule below:

  • Rise of the Zombeasts (September 30) – Create an undead army filled with Zombeasts as Deathstalker Rexxar and his discounted Hero Power.
  • Masquerade Ball (October 8) – Everyone dons a costume at the Scholomance Academy Masquerade Ball! When a minion is played, it transforms into one that costs (2) more. When that minion dies, the original minion is revealed and rejoins the fight!
  • Boss Battle Royale (October 15) – Choose from 10 big bad bosses and fight! Classes are tied to corresponding bosses such as Cenarius for Druid, Rotwing for Hunter, and Lich Baz’hial for Mage.

A new Book of Heroes chapter as Rexxar will also be available on October 14 and will be free for all players, rewarding everyone with 1 Hunter Pack once all 8 bosses have been conquered.

With the recent announcement of Among Us 2, the devs have confirmed just as easily that Part 2 has indeed been cancelled and will instead focus on adding all the content and improvements planned into the current game.

The announcement was made on a blog post by Developers Innersloth, saying that “All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1. This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we’re excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing!”

The planned improvements down the line will include Colorblind support, a friends / account system, a new stage (yay!), and continuous server improvements.

No schedule has been revealed for these improvements but we can expect it to take a while because of all the code support that the game will need to get it up to spec. We’re sure the fans won’t mind!

Similar to Fall Guys, Among Us was a surprise hit this year, not only for the fact that it isn’t a triple A game or that it wasn’t marketed heavily, but simply because it was a 2018 game that saw a huge resurgence due to a Twitch following.

Haven’t heard of Among Us and are interested about all the hype? Check out some gameplay videos below from PewDiePie and MrBeast.

As announced on the PlayStation Blog, Genshin Impact will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 on September 28, the same day it launches on the PC and Mobile devices as well. It is a free-to-play open world action RPG that, if you remember, was heavily maligned because it bore a striking resemblance to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While it does have some similarities, extensive gameplay footage show marked differences as well.

The overview of the game reads as follows:

In Genshin Impact, you play as a mysterious being known as the Traveler. After you are suddenly separated from your sibling, you find yourself stripped of your former powers and helplessly stranded in a new unfamiliar world. You have arrived in Teyvat — a fantasy world where the seven elements flow and converge. But you are not alone. Here you will embark on an epic journey to find your lost sibling and unravel the many mysteries of this world, meeting a host of faithful companions along the way as well as powerful enemies who seek to challenge your quest.

The PlayStation version will have exclusive content along with a pre-order bundle that will give you a headstart in the world of Teyvat. PlayStation owners will get the “Sword of Descension” and “Wings of Descension” items that will require some gameplay to unlock. North American pre-orders are live as well for $9.99.

You can access the game via the PSN storefront of your respective region. For PC, head on over HERE. For mobile devices, HERE for iOS and HERE for Android.

Genshin Impact will releasing for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Mobile Devices on September 28.

SAMURAI SHODOWN: The Legend of Samurai is now available from the iOS Appstore or the Google Play Store from VNG Games.

If you woke up to huge headlines about Fortnite and #FreeFortnite, your eyes do not deceive you. In a somewhat shocking turn of events, Fortnite has been removed from both the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store. Yes, that just happened. One of the biggest games in recent history, gone from both mobile app stores.

So… what happened? Here’s the skinny.

Epic recently updated Fortnite with what they call the “Fortnite Mega Drop”, which is basically a 20% discount on V-bucks (Fortnite’s premium currency) and other real-money offers. Sweet, right? PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC players get access to this and they don’t really have to do anything to make it work, you’ll just save money for every purchase.

For mobile devices, on the other hand, Epic has introduced a new way to pay for those precious V-bucks, called Epic Direct Payment. What it is is that instead of going through iOS and Google payments, you’ll be sending it to Epic directly. Obviously, we’d all rather go cheap, right?

By introducing Epic Direct Payment, Epic technically did 2 things:

  • Bypass the mandated rules that purchases must be made on the respective store platforms (You can see the iOS App Store Guidelines here, Section 3.1.1)
  • Consequently, also bypassing the 30% fee that both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store skims off of purchases

Apple has since responded to this (taken from the NYTimes) by saying “Epic enabled a feature in its app which was not reviewed or approved by Apple, and they did so with the express intent of violating the App Store guidelines. We will make every effort to work with Epic to resolve these violations so they can return Fortnite to the App Store.” Apple have since taken down Fortnite from the iOS App Store.

Google has also responded (taken from The Verge) by saying “The open Android ecosystem lets developers distribute apps through multiple app stores. For game developers who choose to use the Play Store, we have consistent policies that are fair to developers and keep the store safe for users. While Fortnite remains available on Android, we can no longer make it available on Play because it violates our policies. However, we welcome the opportunity to continue our discussions with Epic and bring Fortnite back to Google Play.” Google have since taken down Fortnite from the Google Play Store.

Epic is now suing both Apple and Google, launching a PR campaign behind #FreeFortnite and a particularly funny short, which ironically is the same ad that Apple ran when they first introduced the Mac in 1984.

We’ll have to see what happens next but it won’t be a pretty battle behind the scenes. Both sides have supporters with their own convictions and it will be quite interesting to see what will come out of this debacle, but for now, say goodbye to Fortnite on your mobile devices.

Following their first release with KOF Final Battle AllStar, VNG is gearing up for another release and this time, Haohmaru, Ukyo and Nakoruru take center stage.

You can choose 1 out of 10 occupations under 4 classes and Each class has more than ten active skills, which definitely caters to any style of play that you might want to take while playing the game.

Initially announced a couple of days back, Koei Tecmo have now released new information about the upcoming Monster Rancher 2 game scheduled to release in Japan later this year.

According to a post on 4Gamer, The game will retail for 2,820 Yen or around PHP1,400 but it is unclear which platform this pricing is for. Apart from featuring 400 monsters, the “Slate Reproduction feature from the original game also returns, allowing players to import their monsters from Monster Rancher into Monster Rancher 2.”

There will also be some sort of monster generation via “Disc Stone Reproduction”, which allows you to “enjoy monster reproduction by inputting the music information. With 20 years of music and the largest number of monsters in the series, you can enjoy creating monsters with twice the effect.”

You can view all of the new information and screenshots below (Via Gematsu)

The Fun of the Original Game Returns

Enjoy a Monster Rancher 2 significantly enhanced from the original Monster Rancher for Switch, iOS, and Android. Various elements and content have been enhanced, including 3D graphics, the “Part-Time Job” mini-game, and an increase in the total number of monsters from 200 to 400, the largest amount in the series. The “Slate Reproduction” feature from the original game also returns, allowing players to import their monsters from Monster Rancher into Monster Rancher 2.

*The method of monster reproduction via “Slate Reproduction” differs between the Switch and iOS / Android versions of Monster Rancher 2. You can only import monsters from the same platform. Depending on the type of monster, they may also change to a different type.

Enhanced from the Original

The port of the original Monster Rancher had bug fixes and fine-tuning from the original PlayStation release, and Monster Rancher 2 will go even further in that respect. Koei Tecmo gathered improvement feedback from series fans via the Monster Rancher series official Twitter account, and some of that feedback will be apparent in the game. The fun of the original game remains, but now with greater ease of play.

Enhanced Battles

In addition to downloading and battling against monsters raised by other players, features such as the Bluetooth controller support and tournament mode added to the port of the original Monster Rancher post-release will be supported in Monster Rancher 2 at launch. Enjoy genuine monster battles. Also, like the first game, the Switch version supports local two-player battles with one Joy-Con per player.

More “Music Reproduction”-Generated Monsters Added

“Disc Stone Reproduction,” Monster Rancher‘s key feature that lets you create monsters from CDs, was reproduced via a “Music Search” database for the port of the original Monster Rancher, and that database returns for Monster Rancher 2. Even if you do not own the CD itself, you can enjoy monster reproduction by inputting the music information. With 20 years of music and the largest number of monsters in the series, you can enjoy creating monsters with twice the effect.

Now Accepting Monster Requests

From July 9 to 27, Koei Tecmo will be running a “I Want this Monster to be Born from this CD” campaign, which invites users to combine “artist and song title” with “monster born from CD” on a special website. If you are lucky, the ideas you submit during the campaign may be adopted in the actual game.

Monster Rancher 2 is scheduled for a Fall 2020 release in Japan, no word yet on a Western release.

In what is a surprise announcement, Koei Tecmo has gone ahead to say that an “enhanced port” featuring improvements (as per Gematsu) of Monster Rancher 2 will be released in the Fall of 2020 for the Nintendo Switch and Mobile devices (both iOS and Android).

Both the Famitsu and MonsterFarm_KT Twitter accounts announced the upcoming game that will be scheduled for later this year.

Details are scarce and all we have to go on for now are a couple of images of the game and scans from the Famitsu issue, which you can check out below.

No further details have been given and since this might be a Japanese release, we’ll have to wait and see if it’ll make its way to our shores in an English version.
